Prof. Dr. Stephan Schmidt-Wulffen
Prof. Dr. Stephan Schmidt-Wulffen (born June 20, 1951) is a German philosopher and art historian who works in the field of epistemology of arts and design. However during the last 14 years as rector oft he academy of fine arts Vienna (2002-2011) and as head of the New Design University St.Pölten (2011-2016) he engaged into the future development of universities. He is a Honorary Professor for Aesthetics and Artistic Knowledge at the Zeppelin University Friedrichshafen. Schmidt-Wulffen studied philosophy, lingustics and communication design in Cologne, Constance and Wuppertal. Between 1992 and 2000 he was the director of the Kunstverein in Hamburg and taught at the Hochschule für bildende Künste Hamburg. Schmidt-Wulffen taught at different universities in europe and the US. He was a member of different advisory boards such as the Musée Grand Duc Jean /Luxemburg, the Kadir Has University/Istanbul or the Free University/Bolzano. 'Foto A.Felten'
