Barna Hanula

Dr. Barna Hanula is the Dean of the Audi Hungaria Faculty of Automobile Engineering of the University of Győr in Hungary. Born in 1958 in Budapest made his MSc in mechanical engineering at the TU Budapest. With his diploma thesis, an own developed racing engine, he became Hungarian motor racing champion. After his studies he worked in combustion engine research and education and ran an own company for racing engine development. From 1987 to 1989 he was the chief technical officer of the Hungarian Motor Racing Association. In 1989 he moved to Germany and joined Dr. Schrick GmbH. The company, later AVL-Schrick worked in the Combustion engine development business. In 1999 he became the CEO of the company. He worked on numerous engine projects e.g. on the development of the Bugatti Veyron engine. With his company he created an implemented new technologies world-wide. Based on research of ceramic engine components he completed his PhD in mechanical engineering in 2002. In 2012 he joined Audi Hungaria in Győr, Hungary for an assignment to renew the education of mechanical and automotive engineers in Győr. At the beginning he was in charge of a group of departments and in January 2015 he became the founder dean of the new faculty for vehicle engineering, supported by Audi Hungaria.
