Mag. Birgit Wimmer-Wurm
Since 2014 Birgit Wimmer-Wurm is Project Manager of the Federal Programme “Knowledge Transfer Centres and Exploitation of IPR” Knowledge Transfer Centre WEST at the Johannes Kepler University Linz. She co-created the project ‘Ideengarten’ an Idea Bootcamp held 2015 in Linz which was in cooperation with the University of Innsbruck, Vienna and Graz. She is lecturer at the children’s university Upper Austria to foster entrepreneurial spirit with the course ‘Your own commercial store’. For special achievements in Teaching at the JKU Linz she received 2015 an Award presented by the Upper Austrian government. She is writing her PhD thesis about ‘Innovative teaching and workshop formats in Knowledge and technology transfer for students and staff.’ At the Institute for Entrepreneurship and Organizational Development she is research assistant since 2011 and her research fields are Knowledge and Technology Transfer and Entrepreneurship Education. Her Teaching focus is on Business Modelling, Business Planning, Strategic Tools in Entrepreneurship and Idea Generation for potential entrepreneurs. From 2004 to 2009 she studied Economics and Business at Johannes Kepler University in Linz and her diploma thesis was about: ‘Strategic competence management in the founding process.’ From 1996 to 2000 she made practical experience in founding an own Softwareshop in Wels.
